Spindrift is a podcast about bikes, people, adventure and stories… and we also love making creative content.
Each episode, you can listen to someone brilliant from the world of cycling chat from pro-riders and industry insiders to community advocates to everyday adventurers.
We’re focused on off-road cycling, from MTB, downhill and enduro to gravel cycling, bike packing and adventuring… and everything else in between.
It’s a bit like having a post-ride chat in a cafe or pub with your friends!
An award-winning podcast
Spindrift wins Best Sport Podcast at the Independent Podcast Awards

Hello!
I’m Aoife, and I’m a writer, presenter and podcast producer with a passion for sharing stories of people, places, communities, nature and the environment.
I am a science communicator by training with a background in natural history, and for over 10 years at the Natural History Museum in London I worked with museum scientists to create and present daily events for the general public on everything from dinosaurs and meteorites to forensic pathology and deep sea fish. I’ve hosted live video links to fieldwork sites around the world, and created an award-winning immersive science engagement event called ‘Crime Scene Live’ where participants and real-life forensic scientists worked to solve a mysterious (fictional) murders.
The call of adventure and the outdoors combined with a passion for cycling was strong, and I worked as a journalist, writer and editor for a number of major UK publishing companies including OurMedia and Future Media PLC, and titles including BikeRadar, MBR Magazine, MBUK, Red Bull Media House, Cycling Plus and others.
As a freelance journalist and content creator, I’ve written for environmental youth organisation Jane Goodall’s Roots and Shoots, Trek Bikes UK and the Ordnance Survey, and authored a chapter in the Lonely Planet book Britain’s Best Bike Rides. I’ve also presented and compered at numerous events and festivals including the Enduro World Series race events in Scotland and Italy, the Cycling World Championships in 2023, and on BBC 5Live.
I love helping people share their stories and finding new and innovative ways of engaging the public. I founded Spindrift in 2023 as a focus for sharing stories of women in cycling and adventure, and won Best Sports Podcast in the Independent Podcast Awards that year, as well as being shortlisted for the Sports Podcast Awards. My current project, Keening, was a finalist in the 2024 Whicker Podcast Prize at Sheffield DocFest, and received a special mention for its evocative and immersive use of sound.
Thanks for visiting!
Aoife
